Tipik is a tent and shelter manufacturer launched in 2017 by Xavier Nitsch

Lightweight hiking and nature enthusiast, Xavier began to make ultralight tarps and shelters for his own use in 2011. He was looking for gears adapted to his needs: for hiking, cycling, mountaineering or travelling ...

After completing a Phd in chemistry and some experience in the world of research, he cycled in South America for eight months with a tipi of his own design. Back in France in 2015,  he wished to develop his own small business.

Tipik would take time to mature, the assembly techniques requiring an intense work of learning and experimenting. Many prototypes would be tested and improved thanks to friends, both amateurs and professionals but all passionate and demanding !

Careful designing and testing would eventually lead to the launch of Tipik in May 2017 with the "Aston" model, light, robust and particularly spacious for two people: the tent that Xavier and his companion would have liked to share in south America.

Today, we keep developing shelters and tents that we hope will help you enjoy mountaineering and traveling all over the world !
